GUO Chongqing

GUO Chongqing is an expert in mechanical manufacturing process and equipment, facility planning and design, and industrial development strategy. He is currently a professor at Tongji University. He graduated from Harbin University of Technology in 1957. He was elected member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.

GUO has long been engaged in the design, consultation, and research in the strategy of industrial development of engineering projects, and has also severed as the chief director for more than 30 national or ministerial-level key projects. He has been the Chief Designer for the reform of Shanghai Machine Tool Works, the first industrial project financed by World Bank, and presided over the research work on Work Bank-financed Shenyang industry reform project assumed by the Chinese engineering consulting institute, which made contributions to the technology development of Chinese industries. GUO is honored as Master in Engineering Design by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China. His projects won one National Science and Technology Progress Award, five ministerial science and technology progress awards, one gold award, and three silver awards of National Excellent Design.
