For all applicants

All applicants should also log onto the website of Tongji University (http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn),  fill out the “Application Form for International Students of Tongji University”, and attach the electronic files of the following materials before April 30^th, 2021. (No need to pay the registration fee online.)

For MTCSOL applicants

MTCSOL applicants must express the following original paper materials to the Liaison Office of Confucius Institutes, Tongji University before April 30^th, 2021. (For one academic year or one semester applicants paper materials are not required.)

● a scanned copy of passport photo page;

● a scanned copy of score reports of the HSK and HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);

● a reference letter by the head of the recommending institutions.

● The degree certificate. If the certificate is not in Chinese or English, the original notarized translated versions must be submitted. The certificate should be notarized by the local Chinese Embassy or local Chinese Consulates (or foreign embassies or consulates in China). For applicants who will be graduating in 2021, a certificate of expected graduation issued by education in the current academic institution is required. And Degree certificate is required to be verified and notarized documents must be submitted at the registration.

● Original or notarized academic transcripts. If the academic transcripts are not in Chinese or English, the original notarized translated document must be submitted. The transcript should be notarized by the local Chinese Embassy or local Chinese Consulates (or foreign embassies or consulates in China).

● Applicants of the Scholarship for MTCSOL Students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors. (Original version, signature, and contact information are necessary, sealed in envelope).

● Personal statement. Around 1000 words in Chinese. Study and work experience, academic research achievement, planned research proposal should be included, and individual development objective after graduation.

● Catalog and abstract of published papers, and other documents that can prove academic ability.

● Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or proof to the same effect. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment as well as a reference letter by the employer.
