1.Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2.Applicants should have studied in a country other than the People's Republic of China. (Graduates who studied in China must have graduated for at least one academic year.)

3.Applicants for Master’s programs should be under the age of 35. Applicants for doctoral programs should be under the age of 40.

4.Applicants who apply for a joint training program majoring in their native language or the language and literature in English, French as well as any other third language are not eligible.

5.Applicants who have successfully obtained any other Chinese government scholarship are not eligible.
